There are plenty of things to do in Puerto del Carmen, whether you are on a family holiday, a couples holiday or away with a group of friends.

Things to do in Puerto del Carmen for Families

Puerto del Carmen is a fantastic destination for family fun.

From building sandcastles on the beach to bars with soft play there’s something for everyone.

Kids of all ages will love a round of mini-golf or a game of ten-pin bowling, while the whole family can enjoy a day out at Rancho Park exploring the park’s exotic animals and thrilling water rides.

Ten Pin Bowling: Cesars Bowling

If you’re looking for something to do on a rainy day, Caesars Bowling is a great option. It’s a fun and affordable activity that the whole family can enjoy. We recently took our two kids (7 and 4) to Caesars Bowling, and they had a blast.

Our 4-year-old was able to bowl with the help of the bumpers and sides. He had a lot of fun knocking down the pins, and he was so proud of himself when he got a strike. Our 7-year-old is a bit more experienced at bowling, and he really enjoyed the challenge of trying to get a perfect score.

In addition to bowling, Caesars Bowling also has a game room with arcade games, air hockey, and other fun activities. We spent a couple of hours bowling, and then we moved to the game room to play some games.

We had a great time at Caesars Bowling, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and affordable activity on a rainy day.

The bowling alley can get busy on weekends and evenings, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation in advance.
The bowling alley is located across from Cafe la ola, so you can grab a bite to eat before or after you bowl.
Caesars Bowling is open from 10am to 10pm on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. It is open from 10am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Sun Lounge

We recently enjoyed a visit to Sun Lounge in Puerto del Carmen.

It’s a fantastic spot for families, offering a perfect blend of fun for both kids and adults.

The little ones were thrilled with the play area, swings, and game machines.

The delicious slushies, milkshakes, and mocktails kept them cool and content

Meanwhile, adults could unwind with nightly bingo, card games, and racing events.

And with the daily happy hour, featuring €1 pints from 12-5pm, it was a great place to enjoy a drink without breaking the bank.

Go for Ice Cream

The other is directly under the Spoons bar, with a fantastic range of ice creams that my daughter insisted on visiting every time we passed.

Ranco Texas Lanzarote Park

Last March (2024), my family and I returned to Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park for a second visit.

We decided to take our friends and in-laws along this time, as we knew they would love it just as much as we did.

The park was just as enjoyable as we remembered it. The kids were particularly fascinated by the birds of prey show.

Hollie, in particular, was convinced the birds were going to land on her head, which led to some hilarious moments of her ducking and dodging.

We also enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the park’s restaurant.

The food was reasonably priced, with options like pizza, burgers, and hot dogs.

These beaches also offer amenities like sunbed and shade rentals, making it easy to relax and enjoy the sun.

Swing Park

Parque Infantil is a charming little park nestled in the heart of Puerto del Carmen’s Old Town.

It’s a delightful spot for children to play, featuring colorful playground equipment like swings, slides, and climbing frames.

The park is surrounded by plenty of restaurants in a square, one in particular is My Kitchen by Julius.

This makes it a great place for families to enjoy a day out, with kids playing in the park while parents relax at a nearby cafe or restaurant.

Walks

For a longer, yet still relatively easy walk, consider strolling to Los Pocillos.

This neighboring resort is just a short distance away, and the flat path between the two makes it an ideal option for a morning or afternoon outing (shouldn’t be longer than an hour, depending on where you start from).

If you prefer not to walk back, you can easily catch a bus to return to Puerto del Carmen.

Or, continue your walk towards Playa Chica, a beautiful little cove ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
