La Caleta! This charming little coastal town in Tenerife has been captivating me as I plan a trip there in early 2025. The main reason for the visit? To celebrate my father-in-law’s 70th birthday in style!

As a family we are staying in the Hovima La Pinta in Costa Adeje as it is fantastic for kids.

Knowing how much he and the extended family enjoys delicious food and beautiful scenery, I embarked on a virtual quest to find the perfect restaurant.

Not only do they provide great food, the atmosphere and service are fantastic too.

People queue most nights between 7 and 9 so I would recommend you pre book your table. This is a testament to the restaurant’s popularity.

This can be done via Facebook or the adventure app.

What truly sets Mrs. Miyagi’s apart is the exceptional value it offers.

We spent a very reasonable €60 for a meal for a family of four(2 Adults, a 6 year old and a 3 year old), which even included a bottle of wine.

The food itself is delicious, while the service is praised for being friendly and attentive, just like at other Venture Group restaurants.

If you’re looking for a vibrant and enjoyable Asian dining experience in Playa de las Americas, look no further than Mrs. Miyagi’s.

When we were on holiday in 2023 with the in-laws, they had a meal in the Vegas Grill and absolutely loved it.

They stumbled upon this gem while searching for a steak restaurant, and let me tell you, it sounds like they hit the jackpot.

While they noticed that reservations are recommended for larger groups (more than 2-3 people), they managed to snag a table without one.

There might have been a bit of a wait, but they assured me it was absolutely worth it.

Apparently, the food was “unbelievable” and the service was top-notch, justifying every penny spent.

Think of Vegas Grill as a special occasion kind of place.

It might be a bit pricier than their usual haunts, but for a truly memorable meal, it sounds like the perfect treat.

They mentioned the restaurant is located opposite The Family Garden, and the coolest part?

Fancy stairs with Vegas-themed lights set the scene for a fun and vibrant experience.

Just a heads-up though, if you are traveling with young children, they recommend bringing an iPad or other entertainment incase there is a bit of a wait.

Bianco’s Italian Restaurant & Bar

We had the most amazing dinner at Bianco’s in Playa de las Americas, in our last night, and let me tell you, it was a total experience for the whole family!

We were actually staying in Costa Adeje at the time, but after hearing great reviews we decided to take a taxi to las americas to try the restaurant for ourselves.

It’s not just your average Italian place – it’s like stepping into a party for your taste buds.

The second we walked in, the smell of fresh pizzas and pastas hit us – it was seriously mouthwatering!

The whole place was buzzing with energy and had a very welcoming atmosphere – there was music playing and it just felt really fun.

Bianco’s motto seems to be “fresh pasta, fresh flavors, fresh party!” They weren’t kidding – everything we ordered tasted incredible.

It felt like each dish was made just for us, and the portions were perfect. We definitely recommend trying the pink sangria by the way – it was the perfect holiday drink summer in a glass!

This place seems super popular though, because it was packed! Good thing we made a reservation beforehand – you might want to do the same, especially if you’re interested in their bottomless brunch option (which sounds amazing!).

The staff were fantastic too, providing outstanding service – super friendly and helpful, even with the kids bouncing around.

Overall, Bianco’s was a total win for our family night out.

It also has a brunch menu, so if you are looking for somewhere to go for either breakfast or lunch you should try Bianco’s out.

We all had a blast, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere was just electric.

If you’re looking for a fun and delicious Italian meal in Playa de las Americas, Bianco’s is definitely a place to go, at any time of the day!

Located in the heart of Los Cristianos across from the beach, Restaurante Pimms is a family run restaurant enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

Their menu offers something for everyone to eat, from typical Spanish tapas to a taste of Britain and Mexico all at a very reasonable price.

We can’t recommend their homemade wonders enough. The steak pie, a classic British comfort food, is sure to satisfy. 

If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, try the “Hit the Road Jack” burger, or the fresh “Cód fish marinera style,” a Canarian specialty.

But Pimms isn’t just about the food. They’re famous for their amazing cocktails, particularly their Mojitos.

Made with dark rum and a secret family recipe, they’re the perfect way to end a delightful meal under the Los Cristianos sun.

Whether you’re enjoying a family dinner or a night out with friends, Pimms offers a fantastic atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food at a great price.

El Cine Restaurant in Los Cristianos quickly became a favorite of ours on our recent trip to Tenerife with its array of fresh fish.

Tucked away a street back from the beach, it has a local charm that’s a welcome change from the busier tourist spots.

We highly recommend making a reservation, as this hidden gem is quite popular we arrived early and there were already queues outside.

The restaurant bustles with locals, a testament to its quality and authenticity.

We dove into the freshest of seafood, enjoying perfectly grilled prawns, mackerel, tuna steak and sea bass.

Each dish was accompanied by classic Canarian sides: papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes) and a refreshing tomato salad.

El Cine offers exceptional value for the quality of the food. Run by Juan Carlos, the service is friendly and efficient.

The menu may not be extensive, but what they lack in quantity they make up for in exceptional freshness.

In fact, the food was so good, we found ourselves returning for a second night in a row!

If you are looking out for an Indian restaurant there is one that we highly rate only 10 minutes walk away in Playa de las americas called Tandoori Hut that does fantastic Indian food. There is also one in Los cristianos but we haven’t been to it to review.

Another restaurant in las americas not far away is the Vegas Grill if you fancy a top fillet steak.

One restaurant I should mention is La Paloma, our family or ourselves have never eaten in there but we constantly here great reviews about it.

Open from 5 pm to 10:30 pm daily, this charming Indian restaurant beckons food enthusiasts, located just around the corner from the Moonlight Bar and above the familiar golden arches of McDonald’s Costa Adeje restaurant and Torviscas Beach.

My recent visit to this restaurant was a testament to Torviscas Spice Village’s magic. The bustling atmosphere was palpable, yet the staff’s warmth and dedication shone through.

Even a slight delay in the food did not spoil our experience. The service was friendly, attentive, and personalised – surpassed every expectation, adding an extra layer of charm to the evening.

But the true star of the show was the food, with traditional Indian Dishes, making it one if not the best restaurants for Indian food in Costa Adeje.

All the dishes were full of great flavors and textures and definitely hit the taste buds.

Torviscas Spice Tenerife

The Sangria was sparkling with fruity delight. The Poppadoms and chutneys offered a great start, while the mixed starter platter was a vibrant exploration of spices and textures.

The garlic chili chicken tikka, my main course, was a revelation.

Juicy chicken, infused with the perfect blend of fiery heat and fragrant garlic, paired beautifully with fluffy rice and melt-in-your-mouth naan.

The bustling ambiance at 8 pm spoke volumes about Torviscas Spice Village’s popularity. And it’s no surprise.

The combination of delicious Indian food, warm service, and a lively atmosphere creates an experience that lingers long after the final bite.

The bill, at €65 (2 adults and 2 kids)for an ensemble of cocktails(for the adults 🙂 ), Sangria, and a feast of savory treats, felt like a steal. 

We left yearning for more, already planning our next return to this hidden gem in Costa Adeje, Tenerife.

Just round the corner from La Pinta Beach and next to Solis, Bombay Babu offers delightful Indian cuisine with an inviting outdoor seating area available daily from 16:00 to 23:30.

This Indian restaurant impresses with its pleasant ambiance, excellent service, and consistently amazing food.

Recently, my in laws indulged in a fantastic meal at Bombay Babu near Solis.

Their sharing platter for starters we were told was simply beautiful and incredibly tasty, full of aromatic spices.

Although slightly pricier than others, the dishes were generously packed with more prawns and chicken tikka, making it worth the extra euros.

Additionally, their house Rioja was a delightful complement to the meal.

When they visited Bombay Babu Indian restaurant, the outdoor seating area was bustling and full, except for the table they vacated.

They’ve introduced a tempting 3-course menu for just 15 euros if you arrive before 6 pm, a great deal.

However, the lively country music from the neighboring establishments was a bit loud but it actually added to the atmosphere.

This has highly recommend it to us and we will be visiting on our next trip.

Top tip: Their butter masala curry is meant to be incredible.

Delhi Darbar Indian restaurant  is located in the heart of Costa Adeje, Tenerife.

Nestled around the corner from Guayarmina Princess, this Indian restaurant isn’t just a culinary gem, it’s an experience for the senses.

The restaurant is open daily from 14:00 to 23:30 and offers both indoor and outdoor seating.

We were told by friends that went to Delhi Darbar restaurant that it was pure delight.

The moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in the warmth of traditional Indian decor and the captivating sounds of live jazz music.

It’s like stepping into a bustling Delhi night market, but with the added bonus of ocean breezes and palm trees swaying outside

The service was just as impeccable as the food. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about sharing their culinary heritage.

And what better testament to their authenticity and great food than the sight of local Indian families dining alongside tourists? Trust me, it’s a sign you’ve found the real deal.

Situated across from Solis and Bombay Babu and just up from La Pinta Beach this new Indian restaurant was excellent from taste of the food to the service provided, always providing a warm welcome to customers and children.

With doors open from 16:00 to 23:00 every night, this Indian restaurant offers a delightful blend of tradition and innovation, catering to both dine-in and take-away clientele in the Costa Adeje area.

Their special set menu priced at 17.95€ is a steal, promising an array of tantalizing dishes that satisfy both the palate and the pocket.

New Star Restaurant

When we visited New Star Upon arrival, we were greeted by a diverse selection of beverages, including their delectable sangria, Cobra, and Kingfisher beers.

The culinary adventure truly began with the crisp and freshly served poppadoms, setting the stage for the mouthwatering feast that followed.

For the main course, the Lamb Shashlik stole the show, while my partner relished in the flavors of the Garlic Lamb Curry.

Accompanied by fragrant garlic naan and aromatic pilau rice, every bite was a celebration of authenticity and taste. The impeccable service, overseen by the wonderful manager Bobby and an outstanding staff, added to the overall dining experience.

The Mixed Starter and the Lamb Madras were unparalleled, standing as a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to traditional recipes executed with finesse.

The Peshwari Naan, crispy and bursting with flavor, added a delightful crunch to the meal.

Moreover, the allure of the ‘All You Can Eat Indian Buffet’ at a price of €14.95, only adds to the myriad reasons why New Star Restaurant has become a hotspot for connoisseurs seeking an authentic taste of India in Costa Adeje.

Delhi delights is a new Indian restaurant located on cardiac hill (San Eugenio), Costa Adeje where the old thirsty turtle use to be.

Nestled in the heart of Costa Adeje, Tenerife, it is a very good Indian restaurant that promises a delightful journey through traditional Indian cuisine.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with traditional Indian fabrics and artwork, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

I chose the 3-course set menu for €14.95, as I’ve heard lots of people going on about it. For me it included a starter, main course, and ice cream.

The presentation was excellent, and the food was even better.

I had the butter chicken for my main course, and it was absolutely amazing. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the chicken was cooked to perfection.

I also loved the naan bread, which was light and fluffy.

The service at Delhi Delights was also top-notch.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and they even asked me what complimentary shot I wanted at the end of my meal. Also if you ask they will provide a gluten free option for you.

They also have a great kids’ menu, so it’s a great option for families.

Overall, I was very impressed with Delhi Delights. It’s a great place to get delicious and authentic Indian food at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the San Eugenio part of Costa Adeje.

It is family run and my wife and I were introduced to it by my wife’s parents who have been going in for many years.

The bar serves breakfasts and lunches and at night has karaoke and professional entertainment.

The drinks here are the best we’ve had and their cocktails are fantastic.

A warning though, be careful, as they are very potent (exceptional). I would recommend a visit here if it’s even just to try their drinks, but the staff are very friendly and efficient.

The compare is Titch Cooper who has been there for years and is very popular.

As already indicated, the drinks here are in my opinion the best. During the day they serve pints for €2 until 7pm and after that I would definitely recommend a cocktail.

Star Bar

The star bar is a lively bar/restaurant situated across from the Bouganville Playa hotel and next to the Pheasant Plucker.

It is Scottish owned and very popular.

The drinks are good and reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly.

We had a fantastic English breakfast recently, and although it is Scottish owned, the English breakfast is second to none. 

We returned that evening to watch a cabaret act, The Godfather of Swing (Eddie Lennie) who is very good and had the whole bar involved.

A very good evening. It’s a place we will definitely return to and was recommended by my in-laws who visit every time they’re in Adeje.

Excellent English, Scottish and jumbo breakfasts ranging from €4 to €6:50. They also have omelets, continental, cereal’s and various other options to suit all tastes.

Best Scottish Breakfast in Costa Adeje

Scotch Corner

My wife and I have been going to Adeje for over 10 years and every year we never fail to visit Scotch Corner.

Until about two years ago the bar was owned by Jamie and Karen, a Scottish couple who owned the bar for over 20 years.

It has recently been taken over by Paul who also plays in a band at the Gaelic corner in Las Americas and has been in Tenerife for many years.

The bar has been extended as the owners have taken over Linger Longer which was the pub next door.

Believe me when I say that the bar needed the extension because of its popularity.

Any time we’ve been there it is either full or very busy, but the staff are excellent at service is very efficient. 

We have eaten at all times and had breakfast, lunch or dinner at some point.

We have never been disappointed and I would thoroughly recommend it for any type of meal or one of their various sandwiches and toasties or even a roll and bacon.

There are other options like scrambled and fried eggs and even Scotch rolls.

You can also make up your own breakfast from the items on offer.

Lunches are varied and there is a selection of baked potatoes, sandwiches, soup and a sandwich and burgers and hot dogs.

Again there is a very wide and varied selection.

There are curries, chili con carne, Bolognese, lasagna and much more.

Scottish favourites like Tatties and mince steak pie and pie and chips are available and on Sundays they do traditional roasts. 

What we liked about the food was that the standard wasn’t affected by the new ownership as it’s the same chef in the kitchen.

We also find prices are very reasonable.

Lochness is one of the restaurants we haven’t visited, but it comes highly recommended by friends that we met.

The prices are unbelievable and we were told the staff are very friendly.

It’s definitely on or go to places the next time we visit.

El Ferry (Best for Kids to Play)

El Ferry is situated on the beach front at Puerto Colon. It is well placed for families if you want something to eat(whether it be fast food or a nice sit down meal) or drink and allow your children to play on the beach.

We sat at a semi outside table, as the restaurant offers outdoor seating as well as inside and watched our two children play safely on the sand. Ideal to keep us all happy. It’s also a great vantage point to people watch.

El Ferry does a full English for €2:90 and it really is good. Although we didn’t have one, we spoke to a few people who had and enjoyed it. They also offer the usual breakfast combinations at really good prices.

El Ferry also serve sandwiches and have a full menu which includes all the usual favourites you would expect.

We’ve had toasties, pizzas and omelette here and the food has been very good.

The staff are also very friendly.

El Puerto is another restaurant facing the Puerto Colon beach that offers outdoor seating.

It is next to El Ferry and although we haven’t been in we have spoken to people that have and recommended it.

Again it’s well placed to allow children to play safely on the beach while parents enjoy a refreshment.

Intercontinental

Intercontinental is also on Puerto Colon beach and again it’s one we haven’t been to.

This will definitely be one we’ll visit on our next trip after we spoke to a couple on our last day on the beach.

They were raving about it, its prices and value for money and its excellent selection of meals day or night.

It sits facing the beach and lets children safely visit the beach when they’re getting bored. I looked into their menus and found the following;

The Ginger Pig

The ginger pig is one of the newer restaurants in Costa Adeje Tenerife, it’s on the hill at St Eugenio.

The owner, Alex, also owned The Thirsty Turtle, but this has now closed.

My wife and I visited it twice during our recent visit, but we’ll definitely be back. It is one of the best places in Costa Adeje for fantastic view.

We had breakfast twice and on both occasions it was excellent.

As well as the food being great we found it to be a great place to see the awesome views of Torviscas. 

We had passed the restaurant a few times and each time we did it was full.

A recommendation on its own.

We were lucky one day and went in and had lunch and found a gem. The second time we went we booked a table and I would recommend doing this as it’s usually packed.

They have an excellent selection of breakfasts, main meals and sweets and a fantastic cocktail menu.

They also have a happy hour between 16:00 and 18:00 daily when cocktails and bites are 2 for 1.

A great opportunity if you can take it.

The Cozy Cafe is a British owned restaurant that serves excellent English food.

This is definitely the best place we visited for home cooking.  Their breakfast menus are varied and offer full English, Scottish and vegetarian options.

You can also build your own with basically everything you could want for breakfast.

If you don’t fancy a cooked breakfast they also offer cereal options and other healthy food choices.

Their home made cakes and afternoon teas are something special.

If you have a special event like birthdays or anniversaries they will bake a cake to your specification.

If it’s a meal you’re looking for their fish n chips are the best and Sunday roasts are always a favourite.

They also make various pies and other tea time favourites.

My wife and I ALWAYS visit the Cozy when we’re in Adeje and have always enjoyed whatever we’ve ordered and it is always reasonably priced.

Our favourite is El Ferry.

The reason we love this restaurant so much is because of its location and ability to satisfy the whole family.

We can sit back and enjoy a breakfast or just a coffee while our children play on the beach, all within eyesight, it is a very pleasant experience, especially if you have kids with you.

When we have spent the day down at the beach we would normally go there for a brunch or pizza for lunch.

It’s also a great spot for people watching and taking in the beautiful views of Puerto Colon beach whilst sipping on an ice cold beer.

The last time we were there my wife and myself shared a Chateaubriand with some Canarian potatoes and veg on the side. Which was absolutely delicious, and cooked to perfection .

The service at Embassy Steak Restaurant is excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to recommend dishes or wines. Like most restaurants in Tenerife the Embassy accepts mastercard, visa or any other for of card. They also accept cash.

Note: like most restaurants there is free wifi, which should keep the kids entertained. This restaurant was highly recommended to us and i would also highly recommend it.

What I would recommend though is that normally in Spain they cook their meats slightly less than we do in the UK, so if you would normally order a medium rare steak at home I would recommend to order it as medium.

Overall, Embassy Steak Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal in a stylish setting. It is perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Costa Adeje, just a 10-minute walk from the beach, and directly across the road from the Bouganville.

The business has been established for 25 years, which says a lot about the quality here. The interior is modern and relaxed, with plenty of space to enjoy a leisurely meal.

The menu features a variety of steaks, as well as pasta, pizza, and salads. The steaks are made with high-quality beef and are cooked to perfection.

The most popular dish is the rib-eye steak, which is 3 cm thick and weighs 300 g. The steak is cooked to your liking and is served with your choice of sides.

Other popular dishes include the filet steak, sirloin steak, and T-bone steak.

In addition to steaks, the restaurant also serves pasta, pizza, and salads.

Overall, The Castle Pub and Tapas Bar is a great place to go for a drink and some food in Adeje. It’s got a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and good prices. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon or nice meal out at night.

They don’t serve huge portions, but definitely enough to fill you up.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cala for our wedding anniversary and it was an experience that we will never forget!

The menu features a variety of dishes, all of which are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. They focus on Mediterranean cuisine but also have some dishes from other parts of the world. I particularly enjoyed the garlic prawns, seared tuna and lamb shank.

The restaurant has a wide selection of wines, both local and from around the world.

The staff are knowledgeable about the different wines and can help you choose one to pair with your meal.

The atmosphere at Cala is relaxed but elegant. It has a beautiful terrace for outdoor dining, the perfect spot to enjoy the warm weather and wonderful views of Torviscas beach. They also have a full bar, so you can enjoy a cocktail or two while you wait for your meal.

The tapas is huge portions, and the prices are very reasonable. We definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, a relaxed atmosphere and wonderful views of the beach.

This all in making it a very popular restaurant, so I’d advise you book in advance.

My tip is to try and get there for sunset. This hidden gem is well worth a visit!

Gran Maison is a steak restaurant located in Costa Adeje it also appears as one of our best restaurants for steaks. 

It has an inviting atmosphere, whether indoors or out, and they often have a live singer or piano player to entertain guests. 

The menu offers a variety of steaks cooked to perfection, as well as other dishes such as fish, chicken, and pasta. They also offer a wide selection of wines and cocktails to pair with your meal.

It is right across from the Iberostar Bouganville and a few doors up from the Wali Haii where you could end your night with a cocktail and a sing on the karaoke. 

It is also just off the main stretch so plenty of space for a mobility scooter. 

McGuire’s: Best Atmosphere Pub In Costa Adeje

It is known for its friendly atmosphere and its wide selection of food and drinks. 

The bar serves traditional Irish dishes such as fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, and bangers and mash. 

It also has a wide selection of beers on tap, as well as cocktails and spirits.

McGuire’s is a great place to watch a sporting event, or to just relax and have a drink with friends. 

The bar is also a popular spot for live music, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. 

With plenty of outdoor seating it is really a great place to sit back and chill with food and drink at a great value.

The good thing about McGuire’s for us as a family with 2 young children is that it is away from any busy roads. 

Bear in mind they have the typical toy machine in the corner that you can get a toy out for 2 euros.

Amalfi Restaurant in Costa Adeje has effortlessly stolen the top spot as the best of the best restaurants in Costa Adeje. 

It’s a combination of factors that make it truly unbeatable. 

First and foremost, the food is the real deal. Authentic Italian dishes bursting with flavor take center stage. 

Every bite transports you straight to a charming trattoria in a sun-drenched Italian piazza.

But the magic doesn’t stop there. The service is exceptional. The staff is attentive and friendly, always ensuring our experience is top-notch. They truly go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Then there’s the view. 

Perched right on the seafront, Amalfi boasts panoramic vistas that are simply to die for.

I wanted to share 3 of my favorites with you:

First if you are looking for some entertainment including a game of Bingo, The mellow Gecko could be exactly what you are after.

Second, to meet fellow travelers, Heads & Tails Bar offers a welcoming atmosphere and social gatherings.

And finally, Lily’s English Tea Terrace is a delightful spot for breakfast or afternoon tea, with cakes and scones that are simply divine.

We stumbled upon a hidden gem in Costa Adeje last time we were here – The Mellow Gecko!

This little bar is more than just your average bar.

Fancy a fun night out with a chance to win some prizes, look no further! 

They have bingo and games happening Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sundays, starting at 3pm.

We were lucky enough to catch Paddy’s act on a Wednesday. Let me tell you, this guy is a comedian!

We haven’t laughed that hard in ages. Apparently, Gary takes over the hosting duties on other days, but everyone seems to rave about the atmosphere.

The staff, including the owner Adam, were incredibly welcoming. We tried their white sangria, and it was absolutely delicious! They also have fantastic cocktails, with a great 2-for-€10 deal.

The Mellow Gecko is so popular for bingo that they recommend booking a spot in advance.

It’s a great place to meet new people (as the in-laws did), both locals and visitors.  They also have fantastic food, so you can make a whole evening of it. 

 

Heads & Tails

Heads & Tails Bar Costa Adeje

Head and tails is well known for solo travelers to meet up. 

This hidden gem has become famous for its welcoming atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to meet fellow adventurers.

Whether you’re on holiday or a resident, Heads & Tails offers a chance to connect with others over a drink and share travel stories.

Every Wednesday at 2pm, the bar hosts a social group meet-up, specifically designed to help solo travelers mingle.

Look for the upturned wine glass on a table, or simply ask the friendly staff to point you in the right direction. But the fun doesn’t stop there – Heads & Tails is also a sports fanatic’s paradise.

With a whopping seven screens, you’re guaranteed to catch all the action, no matter your favorite sport.

So, grab a drink, cheer on your team, and make some new friends at the Heads & Tails Bar!

Final word

All these restaurants offer something completely different, from Scotch Corner and McGuire’s serving up a traditional British and Irish meal to a once-in-a-lifetime experience of teppanyaki at Miishi.

All the restaurants in this blog are my and my wife’s favourite restaurants.

As we have been coming here almost every year for the last 10 we have eaten in several. That’s not to say there aren’t ones we haven’t heard of or come across equally as good. I’m sure there are plenty of local restaurants that we have still to try out.
