If you’ve spent any time scrolling TikTok lately, you’ve probably seen The Winchester in Costa Adeje popping up on your feed — especially for their famous mozzarella sticks! We decided to check it out for ourselves on a recent family trip to Playa Fañabé, and here’s exactly how it went.
🌅 First Impressions
The Winchester sits right on Calle Londres, just off the Playa Fañabé promenade. With a sea-view terrace, friendly staff, and that relaxed Tenerife buzz, it’s instantly welcoming.
We were booked in to a table up the back with a lovely big TV where we could watch the football. The atmosphere was easy-going, and there was a mix of couples, families, and groups of friends.
🧀 The TikTok-Famous Mozzarella Sticks
Yes, the hype is real — these are the viral mozzarella sticks that have everyone talking. When ours arrived, they were enormous: three long, golden sticks oozing cheese.
The kids couldn’t wait to film the cheese pull for their TikTok, and honestly, it was impressive. Were they the best we’ve ever tasted? Yes they are and they are a great food experience.
Our advice? Order one portion to share. They’re filling!
🍔 The Food & Menu
The Winchester’s menu covers British pub favourites and international comfort food — from burgers and wraps to steaks, ribs, and salads.
Here’s what we ordered:
🍔 The Winchester Burger — stacked high and perfectly cooked.
🥩 Sirloin steak — great value and cooked to perfection.
🍕 A classic pizza for both the kids, which disappeared in minutes.
Everything arrived hot, fresh, and generously portioned — exactly what you want after a beach day.
🍹 Atmosphere & Service
If you love a lively, family-friendly pub vibe, The Winchester is spot on. There’s usually live music or sports on TV, and the staff are friendly even when things get busy.
We were served quickly, though reviews suggest that during peak times it can get a little hectic — understandable for such a popular spot.
✅ Pro tip: Go around 6 p.m. to get a good table and avoid the queues.
🎵 Entertainment & Evening Vibes
As the sun set, the live music started and the energy lifted even more. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy a drink, and soak up the Tenerife atmosphere.
The Winchester strikes a nice balance between British comfort and Canary Islands charm, which makes it especially good for families like ours.
💬 Our Honest Thoughts
What we loved: ✔ The seafront view — unbeatable at sunset. ✔ The friendly service and family-friendly atmosphere. ✔ Those famous mozzarella sticks (the kids are still talking about them!). ✔ Huge portions and good value for money.
What to note: ⚠ It gets busy and you may have to wait for a table, but it’s worth the wait. ⚠ It’s casual and lively, not fine dining.
Still, for a fun, relaxed evening meal, The Winchester really hits the mark.
💡 Tips for Visiting.
Share the mozzarella sticks!
Arrive early for sunset views.
Bring the kids — they’re very welcome here.
Order a cocktail — they’re surprisingly good!

My thoughts on things to do in Costa Adeje
Costa Adeje is the perfect holiday destination for families and couples alike, it is a nice friendly resort where we have never seen any trouble.
Plenty to do and is a lot cheaper than mainland Spain.
So if you are a family or couple looking for sun 365 days of the year come and visit Tenerife, especially to see the Costa Adeje attractions (lovely relaxing views, and fabulous bars and restaurants).
Costa Adeje Tenerife has loads of good places to go for breakfast, or even just a morning coffee during your holiday, and depending on where you are staying, there is normally something great within walking distance.
Most breakfast restaurants and cafe’s will provide any thing from English breakfast to a continental style breakfast.
But some places stand out more than others, so let’s take a look at the best breakfast restaurants in Costa Adeje Tenerife, why we find them special and where they are located.
Amazing English Breakfasts
Wali Haii
The Wali Haii bar/restaurant is situated across from the Bouganville hotel and is an excellent bar with a really good atmosphere.
It is family run and my wife and I were introduced to it by my wife’s parents who have been going in for many years.
The drinks here are the best we’ve had and their cocktails are fantastic.
A warning though, be careful, as they are very potent (exceptional). I would recommend a visit here if it’s even just to try their drinks, but the staff are very friendly and efficient.
The compare is Titch Cooper who has been there for years and is very popular.
Taking in the view while waiting on my Breakfast.
Breakfast
Breakfasts are excellent here with a full English starting at €4, but you can add items if you please.
They also serve American and vegetarian options as well as various combinations of breakfast items.
Wali Haii Breakfast Menu
Lunches
There are a variety of sandwiches. rolls, baguettes and toasties to choose from as well as omelets, burgers and children’s meals.
Wali Haii Lunch Menu
Drinks
As already indicated, the drinks here are in my opinion the best. During the day they serve pints for €2 until 7pm and after that I would definitely recommend a cocktail.
The drinks are good and reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly.
We had a fantastic English breakfast recently, and although it is Scottish owned, the English breakfast is second to none.
We returned that evening to watch a cabaret act, The Godfather of Swing (Eddie Lennie) who is very good and had the whole bar involved.
A very good evening. It’s a place we will definitely return to and was recommended by my in-laws who visit every time they’re in Adeje.
Breakfasts
Excellent English, Scottish and jumbo breakfasts ranging from €4 to €6:50. They also have omelets, continental, cereal’s and various other options to suit all tastes.
Full English at Star Bar
Lunches and Mains
The bar also has the usual fare of sandwiches and toasties, burgers, wraps, jacket potatoes and salads. They also have a kids menu and do afternoon teas.
Drinks
Drinks are very reasonable and they offer pints for €2 until 7pm. They also have a good range of cocktails.
We also found the staff to be very attentive and friendly.
My wife and I have been going to Adeje for over 10 years and every year we never fail to visit Scotch Corner.
Until about two years ago the bar was owned by Jamie and Karen, a Scottish couple who owned the bar for over 20 years.
It has recently been taken over by Paul who also plays in a band at the Gaelic corner in Las Americas and has been in Tenerife for many years.
The bar has been extended as the owners have taken over Linger Longer which was the pub next door.
Believe me when I say that the bar needed the extension because of its popularity.
Any time we’ve been there it is either full or very busy, but the staff are excellent at service is very efficient.
We have eaten at all times and had breakfast, lunch or dinner at some point.
We have never been disappointed and I would thoroughly recommend it for any type of meal or one of their various sandwiches and toasties or even a roll and bacon.
Breakfast at Scotch Corner
Breakfasts on offer are Scottish, English a selection of cereals and vegetarian options.
There are other options like scrambled and fried eggs and even Scotch rolls.
You can also make up your own breakfast from the items on offer.
Breakfast at Scotch Corner
Lunches at Scotch Corner
Lunches are varied and there is a selection of baked potatoes, sandwiches, soup and a sandwich and burgers and hot dogs.
Evening Meal at Scotch Corner
Again there is a very wide and varied selection.
There are curries, chili con carne, Bolognese, lasagna and much more.
Scottish favourites like Tatties and mince steak pie and pie and chips are available and on Sundays they do traditional roasts.
What we liked about the food was that the standard wasn’t affected by the new ownership as it’s the same chef in the kitchen.
We also find prices are very reasonable.
We have more information about Scotch Corner in our Best Restaurants page.
Drinks
Drinks include excellent cocktails and Tennent’s lager.
El Ferry is situated on the beach front at Puerto Colon. It is well placed for families if you want something to eat(whether it be fast food or a nice sit down meal) or drink and allow your children to play on the beach.
We sat at a semi outside table, as the restaurant offers outdoor seating as well as inside and watched our two children play safely on the sand. Ideal to keep us all happy. It’s also a great vantage point to people watch.
Breakfasts
El Ferry does a full English for €2:90 and it really is good. Although we didn’t have one, we spoke to a few people who had and enjoyed it. They also offer the usual breakfast combinations at really good prices.
El Ferry Breakfast Menu
Lunches and Mains
El Ferry also serve sandwiches and have a full menu which includes all the usual favourites you would expect.
We’ve had toasties, pizzas and omelette here and the food has been very good.
The staff are also very friendly.
Drinks
El Ferry has a full bar and serves cocktails and pints of lager for €1:50.
El Puerto is another restaurant facing the Puerto Colon beach that offers outdoor seating.
It is next to El Ferry and although we haven’t been in we have spoken to people that have and recommended it.
Again it’s well placed to allow children to play safely on the beach while parents enjoy a refreshment.
El Puerto Costa Adeje
Breakfast
Like El Ferry it offers a full English breakfast for under €3 as well as most other choices a usual breakfast constitutes.
El Puerto Breakfast Menu
Sandwiches and Mains
El Puerto has an extensive menu offering sandwiches, toasties, salads etc for lunch. It also has a full menu which includes Pizzas, Steaks, Lasagna, Bolognese and all other family favourites.
Drinks
The restaurant has all the drinks you would want and offers pints for €1:50.
Intercontinental is also on Puerto Colon beach and again it’s one we haven’t been to.
This will definitely be one we’ll visit on our next trip after we spoke to a couple on our last day on the beach.
They were raving about it, its prices and value for money and its excellent selection of meals day or night.
It sits facing the beach and lets children safely visit the beach when they’re getting bored. I looked into their menus and found the following;
Intercontinental Restaurant Costa Adeje
Breakfasts
Intercontinental have several breakfast options including full English ranging from €2:50 to €3:50.
They also provide some vegan options if you ask the staff.
Great value for money
Intercontinental Breakfast Menu
Lunches and Mains
As well as sandwiches, toasties and pizzas etc Intercontinental offer a three course meal for less than €11. Incredible value when you see the selection on offer.
Intercontinental lunch Menu
Drinks
The restaurant has all the usual drinks on offer as well as pints for €1:50. There is seating either inside or limited outside tables.
The ginger pig is one of the newer restaurants in Costa Adeje Tenerife, it’s on the hill at St Eugenio.
Ginger Pig Costa Adeje
The owner, Alex, also owned The Thirsty Turtle, but this has now closed.
My wife and I visited it twice during our recent visit, but we’ll definitely be back. It is one of the best places in Costa Adeje for fantastic view.
Ginger Pig Menu Costa Adeje
We had breakfast twice and on both occasions it was excellent.
As well as the food being great we found it to be a great place to see the awesome views of Torviscas.
We had passed the restaurant a few times and each time we did it was full.
A recommendation on its own.
We were lucky one day and went in and had lunch and found a gem. The second time we went we booked a table and I would recommend doing this as it’s usually packed.
They have an excellent selection of breakfasts, main meals and sweets and a fantastic cocktail menu.
They also have a happy hour between 16:00 and 18:00 daily when cocktails and bites are 2 for 1.
A great opportunity if you can take it.
The Ginger Pig Bar and Kitchen 3 ratings Av. de España, 2, 38660 san eugenio, Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The Cozy Cafe is a British owned restaurant that serves excellent English food.
Cosy Cafe Costa Adeje
This is definitely the best place we visited for home cooking. Their breakfast menus are varied and offer full English, Scottish and vegetarian options.
Cosy Cafe Menu Costa Adeje
You can also build your own with basically everything you could want for breakfast.
If you don’t fancy a cooked breakfast they also offer cereal options and other healthy food choices.
Their home made cakes and afternoon teas are something special.
If you have a special event like birthdays or anniversaries they will bake a cake to your specification.
If it’s a meal you’re looking for their fish n chips are the best and Sunday roasts are always a favourite.
They also make various pies and other tea time favourites.
My wife and I ALWAYS visit the Cozy when we’re in Adeje and have always enjoyed whatever we’ve ordered and it is always reasonably priced.
The reason we love this restaurant so much is because of its location and ability to satisfy the whole family.
We can sit back and enjoy a breakfast or just a coffee while our children play on the beach, all within eyesight, it is a very pleasant experience, especially if you have kids with you.
View of beach from El Ferry
When we have spent the day down at the beach we would normally go there for a brunch or pizza for lunch.
It’s also a great spot for people watching and taking in the beautiful views of Puerto Colon beach whilst sipping on an ice cold beer.
So for us the best breakfast in Costa Adeje is El Ferry
But don’t just take our word for it, try all of these amazing breakfast restaurants and find your own favourite!

Costa Adeje has some of the best beaches in the Canary Islands, boasting miles of golden sand beaches (not the volcanic sand you get in the north) and crystal clear waters.
It’s no wonder Costa Adeje attracts thousands of visitors every year.
One of the things that makes Costa Adeje’s beaches so diverse is the variety of activities that they offer.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing day sunbathing or an adrenaline-pumping day of watersports, you will find the perfect beach in Costa Adeje.
All the beaches in Costa Adeje have something different to offer.
Costa Adeje has no black sand beaches, they are all in the north
Costa Adeje has 5 main beaches, all with different advantages:
Playa del Duque
Playa Del Duque
Playa del Duque is on of the best beaches in the south coast of Tenerife. It is a 1.5 km long golden sand beach located in the heart of Costa Adeje.
It is a very popular beach with tourists and locals alike, and is known for its calm waters and beautiful scenery.
The beach is also home to a number of luxury hotels and restaurants, and also one of the nicest beaches in the Canary Islands.
The beach is excellent for:
Swimming: The waters off Playa del Duque are calm and clear, making it a great place for swimming. The beach is also supervised by lifeguards, so you can relax and enjoy your swim without having to worry about your safety.
Sunbathing: The sand on Playa del Duque is soft and golden, making it perfect for sunbathing. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent, so you can find the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun.
Water sports: Playa del Duque is a popular spot for water sports, such as sailing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. There are a number of watersports schools and rental companies located near the beach, so you can easily get started.
If you are interested in surfing it can be a good beach for beginners because as mentioned it has nice calm waters.
Playa Fanabe is another popular beach in Costa Adeje. Like Playa del duque it is also a blue flag beach.
It is a 2 km long beach with golden sand and clear waters.
Similar to playa del duque it is an excellent beach for swimming sunbathing and watersports.
The beach is well-equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, and water sports facilities. There are also a number of restaurants and bars located close to the beach.
Price of Sun beds: €6 per bed & you can stay as long as you want.
Soft Play: at the end of the beach near Torviscas Beach.
Crazy Golf: between the beach and The Mister Sister Show Bar
Bars: Plenty of bars near by if you fancy some refreshments, one which i love is the Mister Sister Showbar.
The beach can get very busy in the peak of the summer, so you may want to look elsewhere or watch what time you go.
Playa de Torviscas is a small beach located in the south of Costa Adeje. It is a good option for families, as the waters are calm and shallow.
The beach has golden sand and is well-equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas.
It is located between Play del fanabe and Playa la pinta, there is a lovely cocktail bar (Waves Beach Bar) which has comfy seats on the beach. It is also directly across from the Amalfi and Cala restaurants.
This is a perfect location for sunset.
Beach Bar with the Wife
Just off the beach there is a McDonalds which is a favourite for our kids, and a softplay.
Price of Sun beds: €6 per bed & you can stay as long as you want
Cocktail Bar on Beach: Waves Beach Bar
McDonalds: next to the Cocktail Bar
Toilets: Next to McDonalds and Free to use, open all evening.
Small Beach but an excellent location for amenities.
Playa La Pinta is a long beach situated in the Puerto Colon area of Costa Adeje. It has golden sand and crystal clear waters, making it a great spot for swimming and sunbathing. The beach also has an array of facilities, from restaurants to water sports rentals.
There is a bouncy castle in the water that you can pay to use.
You will find a lot of people come here to enjoy a variety of water sports like, scuba diving and jet skies.
There are plenty of bars and entertainment next to the beach, as this area is a bit of a hub. From the Sky Bar to Odissa, there is plenty for everyone.
The beach is over looked by the La Pinta apartments which is our favourite. It is also straight across from some great breakfast restaurants. In my opinion this makes it one of the best beaches in Tenerife.
Costa Adeje has some of the best beaches in Tenerife and have something for everyone and every event. Below is my recommendations for best beach for certain outings.
Best Beach in Costa Adeje for Swimming
Though several beaches in Costa Adeje offer excellent swimming conditions, Playa del Duque stands out as the best for this activity.
The calm and clear waters of Playa del Duque, combined with the presence of lifeguards, make it an ideal and safe spot for swimmers of all levels.
The warm temperature of the water also adds to the enjoyable swimming experience.
Therefore, for those who love to swim during their beach visits, Playa del Duque should be their first choice in Costa Adeje.
Best Beach in Costa Adeje for Toddlers
Playa de Torviscas gets my vote.
The beach has gentle waves and shallow waters, making it ideal for toddlers who want to splash in the water without having to worry about being dragged out by a strong current.
Moreover, there are plenty of amenities such as sun loungers and umbrellas located near the beach, so parents can relax while their children play on the sand.
As mentioned earlier in the blog, there is a soft play, McDonalds and public toilets all next to this beach.
Best Beach in Costa Adeje for Snorkeling
Best beach in Costa Adeje for snorkeling i would say is Playa del Duque or La Pinta.
Both are calm and have clear waters which make it an ideal spot for snorkeling, as the visibility underwater is excellent.
Moreover, you can explore a wide variety of marine life such as different types of fish and octopuses that live in these waters.
However El Puertito is a small cove located in the south of Costa Adeje. It is known for its clear waters and abundance of marine life, including turtles, fish, and rays.
Best Beach in Costa Adeje for Couples
Best beach in Costa Adeje for couples would be Playa del Duque or La Pinta. Both beaches have golden sand and crystal clear waters, which makes them ideal for romantic strolls along the shoreline.
The picturesque sunsets are also a plus, as they provide the perfect backdrop for couples to enjoy each other’s company in this beautiful environment.
Furthermore, if you want to take things up a notch, you can also find plenty of restaurants and bars located near the beach.
All in all, Playa del Duque or La Pinta are great options for couples looking to enjoy a romantic day at the beach.
The main difference between the 2 is that del Duque seems to be more of an up market area.
Best Beach in Costa Adeje for Families
Best beach for families in Costa Adeje, mention toilets and restaurants and sun beds.
Playa de Torviscas is my pick for the best beach in Costa Adeje for families.
The beach has calm waters, making it a safe spot for children to splash around and have fun.
Moreover, there are plenty of facilities available nearby such as sunbeds, umbrellas and public toilets.
Additionally, there are several restaurants and bars near the beach where you can get a bite to eat. So if you’re looking for a fun day out with the family, Playa de Torviscas is the perfect spot!
On top of all that, there’s also a soft play and McDonalds near by which are sure to keep the kids entertained for hours.
McDonalds at Torviscus Beach
With all these things in one place, it’s no wonder it’s a favourite among families.
Where is Costa Adeje Beaches
Costa Adeje is located to the west of Playa De Las Americas and Los Cristianos. The two resorts are separated by the Barranco del Rey ravine.
It is also about 3km south of La Caleta which hosts some amazing seafood restaurants.
The three resorts are essentially one long stretch of coastline, with Costa Adeje being the more upscale and upmarket of them.
My Final Thought
Costa Adeje Tenerife Spain has several great beaches that offer something for everyone.
They also have a few smaller ones that i’ve not mentioned as we have not been to them, so it may be worth a visit to playa de la enramada and playa de troya.
From swimming and snorkeling to sunbathing and family fun, this beautiful area of Tenerife has it all!
So whatever your plans are, you’re sure to find the perfect beach here in Costa Adeje.
I have been coming here for years with my family of 4 and friends and we love all the beaches mentioned here in the south west of the island.

Quiet times Costa Adeje Market
We have been twice, the first time when we went there we were a bit nieve and turned up about 12. Don’t go at that time it just gets far too busy and hot.
The second time we went for 9 o’clock on a Sunday morning, it was still very hot but not as bad and it was a lot easier to get around.
Unlike most markets I’ve been to you don’t really seem to be able to haggle with the traders, I tried a few times and was unsuccessful every time.
Always bear in mind there can be a few pickpockets at it, we never noticed any but we were told be other folk we met on holiday to carry your valuables in your front pockets.
Getting Busy
The market is full of colorful stalls and lively atmosphere, so don’t forget to bring your camera and capture the memories! What we bought from the Market
My 6 year old daughter loves Manchester Utd and got a strip with Bruno’s name on the back, she doesn’t care if it is a fake or not.My other child got a ball that if you were to bounce in any direction it would be lost and my wife purchased a new pair of flip flops.
Hollie with Man U Strip
I was just happy to leave and enjoy my lunch with a nice cold pint.

My Thoughts on the Market
Overall, the markets of Costa Adeje are a great way to experience some local culture and shop for unique items.
The prices are generally very reasonable, which is nice if you’re on a budget.
It’s not somewhere I would spend all day at but my wife would beg to differ.
It is also something different for the kids to see away from swimming pools and the beach, and you can treat them to something nice without having to pay a fortune.

Family Fun Day in Costa Adeje Aqualand
Our day started by turning up when it opened. We brought a packed lunch for the kids, as they are fussy eaters, like most children, and we intended to eat in the restaurant.
Our first stop was the lazy river:
Lava Rver Aqualand
Lazy River (Lava River)
The Lazy River is a great option for families with younger children.
There is no height or age restriction for the lazy river in Aqualand Costa Adeje. This makes it a great option for people of all ages, including toddlers.
It is a slow-moving river that takes visitors on an inner tube ride around the park.
The Lazy River is perfect for those looking to relax and enjoy some time in the sun without having to worry about intense rides or water slides.
This makes it ideal for smaller kids as they do not need to worry about any of the faster or more intense rides. However i would still recommend bringing a life jacket for very young children, just for peace of mind.
After the lazy river we went in to the children’s pool:
Kids Pool Aqualand
Children’s Pool
This pool is shallow and has a variety of water features for children to play on. It is very shallow and has small slides for babies and toddlers which was heated.
This was great as we could sit at the side and watch them playing. Although my oldest was 6 she still had a great time in there.
Once the children were happy to move on we would walk around the park for a bit, well my youngest demanded carrying.
If you have a buggy on holiday with you I would definitely recommend you take it to Aqualand as you can end up doing a lot of walking, also when leaving the park you may be tempted to walk back, depending on where you were going as the taxi queue can sometimes take up to an hour.
Next was lunch where you can sit inside out of the sun or out on the terrace. The food is reasonably priced. I had a Pizza slice for 5 Euros and Diet Pepsi for 3 Euros and the girls ate their packed lunch (we’ll for the purpose of this blog I’ll say the ate their lunch :)).
Next up was the wave pool, this is what the kids were excited all holiday about playing in and it did not disappoint. Since the pool is like a beach and has a gradual incline, they were able to stand where they felt safe and enjoyed jumping in to the waves.
Wave Pool Aqualand
Wave Pool
The Wave Pool is a great option for those looking to have a bit of fun in the water.
The pool features waves at the deepest area are just high enough for body surfing(1.80 meters), making it perfect for people of all ages.
The wave machine runs every hour and is gentle enough that even young children can enjoy getting caught up in the surf.
We finished the day off by watching the Dolphin Show which starts at 15:30 every day.
Dolphin Show Costa Adeje Aqualand
The Dolphin Show
It is a 30-minute presentation of dolphins, sea lions, and parrots.
The dolphins perform a variety of tricks, such as jumping through hoops, balancing balls on their noses, and playing soccer.
The sea lions do tricks like somersaults and handstands, and the parrots fly around the arena and talk.
For more info take a look at their webpage: https://www.aqualand.es/costa-adeje/en/dolphinarium/
Once that had finished the kids were starting to get restless so we walked back to our hotel.
It was La Pinta, just off La Pinta beach. The walk took about 25 minutes so not to bad, apart from I had to carry Emily.
